Central Coast MDC - Terrigal

The Centre is located at 11 Terrigal Drive, Terrigal, about 1 hour’s drive north of Sydney, at Terrigal lagoon.  It covers the diverse environments of the central coast region from the Hawkesbury River and Patonga in the south to Gwandalan in the north.

The Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre offers guided activities at the local beach and rock platforms to nurture awareness of the local ecosystems and the dynamic nature of the environment. The Central Coast also offers a rich collection of sedimentary features and marine wetlands. Our staff will guide you to meet the animals and plants that abound here and show you how they all interact.

The Marine Centre itself adds to these excursions with a variety of static and interactive exhibits, multimedia displays, short movies, craft, puzzles and quizzes, which make it perfect to visit, even on a rainy day. Come and experience the numerous aquaria (including sharks, octopus, seahorse and cuttlefish tanks), watch them being fed and get your hands wet in the touch pool. Opening times: Weekends and School holidays 10am to 4pm and also Thursdays for group booking.
