Most of the equipment you require for a photo survey project will be easy to obtain. The most important items are a digital camera and computer. A tripod and bush walking GPS will add value to your project. The GPS will enable you to be more exact about your location. A car GPS is not suitable as they don’t provide coordinates. A tripod will provide better quality pictures.
You should have in mind how the images are to be stored over a long period. Consider asking your local council or a conservation group along with the local community library to look after a complete set of images. Placing the images on a free public website may not be a permanent solution as website services keep changing.
Meet with your local Coastcare group and share your information. They can also suggest what places they would like you to photograph. Ask them what issues they are most interested in.
