Pollution warnings

Along with plactic and leaves, stormwater carries many invisable pollutants

Around our cities and towns, there are times when the beaches are more polluted than at other times. The greatest pollution occurs after heavy rain. The States’ EPAs (Environmental Protection Authority) keep track of the pollution along the swimming beaches. They may issue pollution alerts.

In some badly affected places, we need to wait three or more days after heavy rain before it is safe to swim again.
