Kids Club
AUSMEPA Kids Marine Clubs allow children to take an active role within their local community by undertaking interesting investigations and activities aimed at protecting the marine environment. Coastal and inland activities are provided in the 'Kids Marine Club Manual'. Clubs are supported by maritime industries through the AUSMEPA office.

AUSMEPA Kids Marine Clubs:
Encourage school involvement and interest in the marine environment and its conservation by creating opportunities for school and community groups
Introduce children to the world of ships and maritime industries
Concentrate on a wide variety of marine conservation and fun activities such as awareness of the marine environment, practical conservation, exchange through the AUSMEPA website and recognition of achievements,
Provide leadership opportunities, creating non-competitive activities.
Contain projects that can be done in class as part of a unit on the sea, as a lunchtime activity for a school community project or as personal individual actions
Use a web site to create an avenue for linking clubs together

AUSMEPA complements many existing initiatives and programs to protect the marine environment. AUSMEPA is keen to develop partnerships and work with these programs to maximise the effects of these efforts.

Getting started
Four project posters are available for starting a club. The aim of these posters is to interest and inspire club members and provide the club with activity ideas. The activities can be done in a class as a part of a unit on the sea, as a lunchtime activity, as an out of class activity for a school community project or as personal individual actions.
