Instead of using a hose to clean the driveway and paths it is kinder on the environment to use a broom. When you have swept up a pile of dirt and leaves, shovel it up and place it into the compost bin. If it is too difficult to sweep, you could use a blower or garden vacuum. When using the blower be sure you keep the gutters free of leaves, grass and dirt.
